Welcome, Habibi family! Mom and Dad recently arrived from Afghanistan with their 3 kids, ages 3, 6, and 9. Dad worked at the US Embassy and is currently taking English classes alongside his wife in their new community. Their 10 year old, Subhanullah, says his biggest wish this winter is to recieve a comfortable bed to sleep in. After that, he hopes to one day own his own laptop because he wants to study science and work hard to help his family in the future.

Welcome to Sacramento, Popalzai family! Mom and Dad have 3 little boys, ages 1, 5, and 6. They recently arrived from Afghanistan and both Mom and Dad enrolled in English classes right away. Dad worked as a security guard at the American Embassy in Kabul and is happy to now live in the US. The family is happy to decorate their new home they way they like it and have enjoyed picking things out for their wishlist alongside their children.
Welcome, Sakhizada family! Mom and Dad have 3 little boys, ages 2, 6, and 8, and they recently arrived from Afghanistan. Their 8 year old, Amir, says he loves the southern California weather and all of the sunshine here. He wants to become a software engineer or developer, and is very interested in tech, just like his dad, who was a director of a technology program in Afghanistan. The boys are also very creative and love painting pictures together, especially with their watercolor sets.
Meet the Gawhari family! Mom, Dad, and their 2 year old little girl, recently arrived from Afghanistan and resettled in Sacramento, California. Both Mom and Dad are enrolled in English classes as well as computer classes, and Dad hopes to go on to study HVAC systems as well for his future career here in the US. They are very excited to start their lives here.
Meet Hosna Khwajazada and her family. She recently arrived from Afghanistan with her Mom, Dad, brother, and sister. 10 year old Hosna says she loves to keep her own culture alive while learning about the American culture as well. Hosna's mom was a teacher and truly passed her love of learning to her kids. Hosna studies English books and stories in hopes of becoming fluent, and loves to play games with her family, which helps her mom with her own English lessons too.
Welcome to Virginia, Yusufi family! Mom and Dad recently arrived from Afghanistan with their 2 year old son. In Afghanistan Mom was a dental assistant and Dad was a Civil Engineer. They have both started their studies again here in the US in hopes of reentering their career fields. Dad hopes to also study American cultures and traditions when he has some free time, as well as simply spend time with his family, who are so dear to him.

Mom has been enrolled in English classes that begin in January 2024, and she is really looking forward to learning English. Welcome to New York, Sharifi family! Mom and Dad have two sons, ages 10 and 15. They recently arrived from Afghanistan. Dad owned a small business in Afghanistan as a shopkeeper, and Mom worked at a local beauty parlor. Yousuf, their 10-year-old, said he is excited to learn English together as a family, as they love learning new languages. He is most excited about his new room and the space he has to play outside. He hopes to be able to go on vacations with his family as they get used to their new home in the US.
Meet the Ghazaleh family from Syria! Mom and Dad have a 10-year-old son and 12-year-old daughter, and they recently resettled in El Cajon, California. Anas, their 10-year-old, said he really loves his new house and his new friends. He wants to study engineering and truly excels at mathematics.
Meet the Ganai family! Mom and Dad have 2 girls, one who is 18 and one who is 2. They recently arrived from Afghanistan and resettled in the Sacramento area. Dad was a teacher in Afghanistan and would love to get back in the profession here in his new home. He loves to travel, and is especially happy that there are so many green spaces near his new home.

Welcome to California, Karimi family! Mom and Dad have two little boys, ages 1 and 3. The family recently arrived from Afghanistan, where Dad worked as a geotechnical engineer and a lab technician. Dad is hoping to continue both his engineering studies and career here in California, and his greatest goal in life is to continue to improve himself. The whole family also loves sports and enjoys spending time together watching football.
Meet the Kamrani family! Mom and Dad have 3 little ones, ages 10, 6, and 1. They recently arrived from Afghanistan, where Mom served as a midwife to her community and Dad worked as a civil engineer. Their oldest daughter is inspired by her mother's career and plans to study medicine when she gets older as well. Right now everyone is learning English and enjoying their new school and new community. The family used to love going on road trips in the car, and hope to explore more of their beautiful new state of California soon.

Dad worked in construction for a US company in Afghanistan and Mom worked in online media. They are both enrolled in English courses and are really looking forward to jumping back into their careers here in the US. Dad says his favorite thing about his new neighborhood are all the kind people he has met since he arrived.

They recently arrived from Afghanistan and settled in Northern California, and Mom is already enrolled in English courses in her new community. Dad says that his favorite thing about his new neighborhood are his friendly neighbors and how welcome he feels there. Dad was a security officer in Afghanistan and is hoping to find similar employment here in the US.
Welcome, Sakandari family! Mom and Dad have a 2 year old little boy and are expecting a new baby in May! They recently arrived from Afghanistan, where dad worked as a recruitment specialist. He hopes to study business further here in the US and enter the same field in his new community. He has already made new friends in his community and enjoys going on picnics with his wife, son, and their new friends.
Meet the Raoufi family! Mom, Dad, and their 3 kids recently arrived from Afghanistan and resettled in Southern California. They are expecting a new baby as well, and the older siblings are thrilled! Their 7 year old, Hadisa, says moving to the US has been a little hard at first because she really misses her grandma, and that at first her school felt boring because she didn't speak any English, but as she started to make friends she quickly began to love her new school and her new neighborhood. She also loves to go to the park and play with her little siblings, and says she now feels so happy in her life.
Welcome the Tabesh Family! They relocated from Afghanistan to Orange County in Sept. 2023. They are a Mom, Dad, two teenage daughters and a 2 year old son. Mom and Dad will start English classes soon and their daughters are excited to begin studying in their new schools. Welcome to Arizona, Hamidi family! Mom and Dad have 2 boys, 2 girls and one more little one on the way! They recently arrived from Afghanistan, where Dad was a security driver and Mom was a teacher. They are very thankful to be able to relocate close to their children's uncle, as well as a park for the kids to go out and play and a school where the kids can continue their lessons. Their parents careers have been inspiring to the kids, and their 11 year old daughter wishes to be a teacher some day as well.
Meet the Omari family from Afghanistan! The Omaris are a Mom, Dad, and 2 kids, as well as their new baby boy who is due in March of 2024. They recently resettled in Sacramento, California and are thankful that their kids now feel safe to go to school and play in their new neighborhood. Hayesha, their 6 year old daughter, is especially thankful for the new friends she has made, and her barbies she gets to play with.
Welcome to Sacramento, Azizi family! Dad, who was an interpreter for the US Army, Mom, and their 4 kids, ages 4-10 years old, recently arrived from Afghanistan. Bibi, their 10 year old daughter, wants to become a midwife some day, and is studying hard to achieve her dreams. She and her siblings are really hoping to recieve beds soon, as the winter can be very cold in Northern California. Bibi says "I am new in this environment, but I am so happy."
Welcome to Oaklahoma, Rahimi family! Mom and Dad recently arrived from Afghanistan with their two young adult sons, ages 19 and 20. The whole family is participating in English classes together, and 19 year old Mohammad has big goals when they are done: becoming a life coach! He would like to study nutrition, fitness, and health to begin a new career here in the US.
Give a big Texas welcome to the Rasoli family! Mom and Dad have 5 kids, ranging in ages from 4 all the way to 23, as well as their 25 year old nephew who was able to come to the US with them. They are an active family who enjoy the outdoors and going on picnics together. The kids also love sports and their 12 year old wants to be a professional football player when he grows up!
