The Qawi family moved to the US from Afghanistan, where Mr. Qawi assisted American soldiers as a medical translator. The family has three young children and a newborn baby. Currently, the father is studying nursing and working 3 days a week. The kids love soccer, cats, the color blue and french fries, and they want to be doctors when they grow up. Hello Miry's List community! This is the Hashmati Family--a beautiful NEW family of 3 from Afghanistan who arrived in the USA in November 2017. Mom and Dad are so excited to welcome Neha, born 10/12/18! Dad is currently working while Mom goes to school for ESL classes. They are in desperate need of items for their new baby girl. UPDATED: The Mirza family moved to the US from Afghanistan nearly a year ago. Dad worked as a driver at the US embassy while mom took care of their 4 children at home (2 boys and 2 girls). Husnia, 7, dreams of being a doctor when she grows up. She loves dancing, playing with her friends, the color pink, and burgers & fries. Please help this family get on their feet. The Mehran Family consists of mom, dad, and two young siblings. Both mom and dad were college-educated in Afghanistan. Dad was part of the Kabul Elections council for 10 years and worked alongside US Army and Marines in Afghanistan. Mom worked in the domestic violence department in the Council for Womens Rights of Afghanistan but now has fallen ill and under extreme emotional stress. They need your help during this tough time.

Habibi Family consist of mom and dad with 4 kids, 23 to 2.5 years old, arrived newly in mid March 2018. Dad has MD and 13 years experience in public outreach and civil society promotion and he got the SIV due to life threats. Their apartment is empty. They all sleep on the floor. They need your love and generosity to welcome them.

The Jami family is a 6 person family from Afghanistan who arrived in June of 2017. The father of the family worked with the US Military in Afghanistan and is currently studying to become an electrician. Let's help them with some items that they and their home is in need of!

The husband holds a bachelor's degree in law and worked as a case manager for different U.S. projects and in the Embassy. We hope you'll consider purchasing items to make them feel more at home in the U.S.

The Darwish Family are refugees from Afghanistan who arrived to the US in April 2018 and settled in Orange County, California. There are seven of them - Mom and Dad, along with five kids - 3 boys (ages 18, 16 and 14) and 2 girls (ages 6 and 1). The father worked as a translator with American soldiers, and only he and his eldest son can speak English. Miry's List is helping them to rebuild their lives in California, where they are in need of many things for their home as the children are sleeping on the floor. Thank you for welcoming them and helping them get a new start!

Meet the Wardak Family: Mom, Dad, their 1-year-old son, and their newborn daughter. Back in Afghanistan, Mom and Dad both attended university and earned bachelor's degrees in Economics. After graduation, Dad worked with U.S. companies and the United Nations. They endured the journey from home to here when Mom was nine months pregnant and their son was only 15 months old. Their brother is generously hosting them until they can get an apartment. The Wardaks need beds for all and supplies for their infant baby girl.

This young couple is from Afghanistan, where they worked with the US Embassy and with USAID projects. They have spent everything to get here and are working to pay off loans on the car they purchased so the husband can work for Lyft. They have a baby girl who just turned 1 and can really use some help. Thank you.

The Shams Family- Mom, Dad, and two young boys (ages 3 & 7) arrived to the US from Afghanistan in late September 2018. Dad previously worked as an engineer with a US Company until threats to the family forced them to flee their home, relatives and community in search of refuge in the US. Their apartment, which they are extremely grateful to have been resettled in, is completely empty, so they are in desperate need of basic household supplies and other items to begin the slow process of rebuilding their lives in America. Thank you for your kindness and generosity in helping this family to begin again as our new neighbors.

The Najm Family is a large Afghan family with ten children between the ages of 4 and 19. Their lives in danger, the family fled Afghanistan where the father worked as an interpreter during the US mission, and arrived in the US in 2016. The children are all in school and the father now works a minimum wage job. Please help this wonderful family!

Sadly, the father was killed in a car accident their first week in the US and one of the children was also involved in a car accident and has severe brain injury. The family is now living with an uncle and they are in need of household items. Please help this family!
