Meet the Wardak Family: Mom, Dad, their 1-year-old son, and their newborn daughter. Back in Afghanistan, Mom and Dad both attended university and earned bachelor's degrees in Economics. After graduation, Dad worked with U.S. companies and the United Nations. They endured the journey from home to here when Mom was nine months pregnant and their son was only 15 months old. Their brother is generously hosting them until they can get an apartment. The Wardaks need beds for all and supplies for their infant baby girl.
The Darwish Family are refugees from Afghanistan who arrived to the US in April 2018 and settled in Orange County, California. There are seven of them - Mom and Dad, along with five kids - 3 boys (ages 18, 16 and 14) and 2 girls (ages 6 and 1). The father worked as a translator with American soldiers, and only he and his eldest son can speak English. Miry's List is helping them to rebuild their lives in California, where they are in need of many things for their home as the children are sleeping on the floor. The Ahadi Family arrived to the US from Afghanistan on Oct 4, 2017. They are a young family of 3, their son just turned 3 in July. Dad currently works at 7/11 and is soon beginning college in San Diego where they live. They are still new to the States, and in need of some basics to get comfortably settled. Let's help make their apartment a home!

The Qawi family moved to the US from Afghanistan, where Mr. Qawi assisted American soldiers as a medical translator. The family has three young children and a newborn baby. Currently, the father is studying nursing and working 3 days a week. The kids love soccer, cats, the color blue and french fries, and they want to be doctors when they grow up. This young Afghani couple with a 3 year old boy arrived September 2017. They stayed in a motel until October then moved to their apartment. Dad is working, but his income is very limited and it has been very difficult to afford the necessities of setting up the household. He served with American forces in Bagram, Kabul Afghanistan for many years. Due to being in danger they left Afghanistan and traveled to the US. They recently welcomed a new baby girl to the family. Please help this lovely young family set up their new home. Thank you for your help.
The Gharwal family moved to the United States from Afghanistan in October of last year. They stayed with the husband's sister in a one-bedroom apartment for a few months until they were able to get their own place. The father worked over seven years in different USAID-funded projects. They just welcomed a new baby and are now a family of eight! Please help this family settle into their home.
The Sahak family arrived in the US in late 2016. The Sahak's have two children, a 9 month old boy and a 3 year old girl. Hello Miry's List family! The Pohmale family moved to the US in May 2017. The dad worked for years with the US military in Afghanistan and needed to leave urgently because of danger to him and his family. He, his wife, and 2 year old son moved to L.A. with only a few bags and soon moved up to Fresno to live with the dad's brother, who also has a wife and a 1 year old daughter. Both women are expecting again. The Pohmale's need our help to furnish their apartment and prepare for their coming bundles of joy.
This young Hussaini family traveled to the US through SIV. Dad, 28, used to work as interpreter with American forces in Afghanistan. He holds a bachelors degree in agriculture and his wife, 23, graduated from high school. They have a newborn baby girl 2 months. They are in need of basic household things to set up their new home and items for the baby like crib, stroller and clothes. Please help this young adorable family.
This list is for the Al Krad's, a family of 8 who arrived to the US from Syria in late 2016. Their second eldest son was shot by the Syrian Army and left permanently disabled. Another son was tragically shot and killed in Syria. The mother is currently pregnant with a baby girl who is due to arrive into the world on October 8, 2018. The family is in need of some electronic items, and especially of items for the baby. Let's shower them with some Miry's List love!
Syrian family: Dad, Mom, 2 kids ages 3 and 4 and a 2 month old baby boy. They moved from Syria to Jordan Feb 2012 and arrived in the US June 2016.
