We’re excited to introduce you to the Hamidi Family and welcome them from Afghanistan to the United States! They arrived in June 2018 but are still in need of living essentials like beds, basic furniture, kitchen supplies and clothing. They are a big family with 7 children — 5 boys and 2 girls — with ages ranging from 2 to 16. The five who are school age are attending school and need a laptop and a tablet to do their homework. Mr. Hamidi worked as a carpenter for US based companies in Afghanistan and Mrs. Hamidi has expertise as a seamstress and cook. They are all happy to be settling into their life in America but are struggling with their acclimatizing to the culture. Thank you for helping them to make their transition into their new life and home in the US with comfort and love.
The Gharwal family moved to the United States from Afghanistan in October of last year. They stayed with the husband's sister in a one-bedroom apartment for a few months until they were able to get their own place. The father worked over seven years in different USAID-funded projects. They just welcomed a new baby and are now a family of eight! Please help this family settle into their home.
The Alkhateeb family consists of Mom, Dad, Grandma, three daughters aged 3, 5 and 14 and a 3 month old baby. The family left their home in Syria after the Army started taking members of their family, including their uncle. They moved to Jordan in 2012 and arrived in America in 2016. Please help support this family!
The Ghafoory family consists of Mom and Dad, 2 daughters and 4 sons. The father holds a bachelor degree and worked as a university lecturer in the Heart province of Afghanistan before relocating to the U.S with his family in February of 2018. The 20-year-old daughter was medical student in her 6th semester and she, along with her sister and father, plan to continue their higher education here in the states. They need laptops and college supplies to achieve this goal. The 12-year-old son is disabled and is in need of educational toys.
