The Rahimi family is an Afghan family with 5 children that arrived in the US in April of 2018. They have settled here, but are still in need of household items and school supplies for their kids to attend school. Their apartment is empty and they need your help!
The AlSmadi family arrived from Syria and resettled in California. Like many refugee families grandparents are important and kept close. For the AlSmadi family that means 7 people living together, mom, dad, 2 girls, 1 boy and the grandparents. The girls are twins and rely on a wheelchair. Due to their disability the family requires additional help. Luckily you, the Miry's List community, have big hearts and love a challenge. This wish list contains basic household and personal supplies that will allow this loving family to continue their path to a safe and happy home in America. We’re excited to introduce you to the Hamidi Family and welcome them from Afghanistan to the United States! They arrived in June 2018 but are still in need of living essentials like beds, basic furniture, kitchen supplies and clothing. They are a big family with 7 children — 5 boys and 2 girls — with ages ranging from 2 to 16. The five who are school age are attending school and need a laptop and a tablet to do their homework. Mr. Hamidi worked as a carpenter for US based companies in Afghanistan and Mrs. Hamidi has expertise as a seamstress and cook. They are all happy to be settling into their life in America but are struggling with their acclimatizing to the culture. Thank you for helping them to make their transition into their new life and home in the US with comfort and love.
Welcome to California! The Teymuri family are a mom, dad, and 11 year-old son who arrived in Sacramento from Afghanistan in July 2018. Dad worked as a government employee back home. Both he and mom are learning English and looking for jobs. Their most urgent needs are beds and bedding to to get the rest they need to adjust to this new life.
The Gharwal family moved to the United States from Afghanistan in October of last year. They stayed with the husband's sister in a one-bedroom apartment for a few months until they were able to get their own place. The father worked over seven years in different USAID-funded projects. They just welcomed a new baby and are now a family of eight! Please help this family settle into their home.
The Abedy family needs your support! Dad worked with the US government and US army for about 12 years while living in Iraq, but the family left after being faced with a life-threatening situation. They have four kids, one of them a newborn baby boy. Please help provide them with what they need to make their apartment a home!
The AlhajAli Family, Mom, Dad and 4 children (2 boys and 2 girls, ranging from ages 2-11), arrived in the US from Syria in July 2016. Their journey has taken them from Syria -> Jordan -> Georgia, USA, and most recently they are permanently resettled in California where they are in need of many basic household and hygiene needs. Beyond just surviving-- by providing this young family with a few furniture and technology items we will help them to make their empty apartment into a home and stay connected to each other and their new community. The Ghafoory family consists of Mom and Dad, 2 daughters and 4 sons. The father holds a bachelor degree and worked as a university lecturer in the Heart province of Afghanistan before relocating to the U.S with his family in February of 2018. The 20-year-old daughter was medical student in her 6th semester and she, along with her sister and father, plan to continue their higher education here in the states. They need laptops and college supplies to achieve this goal. The 12-year-old son is disabled and is in need of educational toys.
