The Aljasem family, Mom, Dad 2 boys, 2 girls, and a baby girl on the way (yay!) is from Syria. They arrived in 2016 and Dad has been supporting the family by working in a restaurant. Let's help this family welcome their new arrival by showering them with gifts!

Please welcome the Rahimi family to Southern California! Mom, Dad, and three of their four children arrived in March of 2017 from Afghanistan. Dad had worked as an engineer with US-based companies for more than eight years before being resettled in American due to unsafe conditions. Their fourth child was born that year, bringing their family to 6! Since arriving, Dad has enrolled in college, mom is an ESL student, and their children are all in school, so this busy family needs both home and school supplies, as well as clothes for the family and diapers for the baby.

Samadi family arrived in March 2017 from Afghanistan and resettling in Los Angeles. Family includes, Dad, Mom, Grandma, 2 girls ages 8 and 10. Dad graduated from American university of Afghanistan and worked in US funded projects as project manager over 10 years. Mom is home with the kids. They are expecting new baby boy at the end of September 2019. They request for the household and baby items.

Mr. Majidi with his family left Afghanistan for Turkey in 2016 due to the insecure working situation for journalists who were serving for a local TV station. They lived in Turkey for 3 years and finally they could get the visa to travel to the US. They are new arrivals in Sacramento. Family consist of Mom, Dad, 2 sons ages 7 and 4 and a 2 year old daughter. Although they are in empty apartment but still they are happy that they are safe here. children can go to school safely and they live a better live. They are waiting for your help and support.

The Amini Family are new Sacramento neighbors! Mom, Dad and 2 young daughters arrived in July from Afghanistan where Dad had been a carpenter. The most urgent needs are a bike to help Dad as he looks for work and beds for all the family, they only have one broken bed gifted from a neighbor. Mom and Dad are ESL students and the girls are enrolled in school, so even basic essentials on their list will help them feel welcome as they adjust to life in their new city.

Please welcome the Parwani Family! The family is made up of Mom, Dad, 4 daughters and 2 sons. They arrived in Southern California from Afghanistan in 2016. Dad worked for the US Army back home. The two eldest children are college students. Dad works in a shopping mall but his income is insufficient for covering expenses for the large family. Their most urgent needs are basic household and kitchen items, a bed for Mom and Dad, and laptops for the children to do their schoolwork.

The Alimi family resettled in California from Afghanistan in July 2019. The family has 3 boys and 2 girls between the ages of 2 and 13. They need some help making their new house a home as the kids settle in for the school year, mom begins learning English, and dad looks for work.

The Noori Family arrived from California to Afghanistan in 2017. Mom and Dad have seven children between the ages of 8 months and 15 yrs old. Dad worked with an international NGO as project manager and currently registered in college to become a vocational nurse. They are in need of basic home and kitchen supplies as well as bedding for the family. Please help this wonderful family!

The Mangal family arrived in California in 2018 from Afghanistan. Mom and Dad have seven children, four boys and three girls, between the ages of 6 and 21. The family is in need of basic household and kitchen items, bedding and backpacks for school. Welcome Mangal Family!

The Zamani Family arrived from Afghanistan on July 12, 2017. They lived for almost a year in a one bedroom apartment before recently making the transition to a new apartment in LA. Before coming to the US, Dad had served the US military and Mom was a homemaker. Now settled in California, Dad is working while Mom is staying home to take care of the little ones. With the older children in school and not yet able to work, the family is currently in need of help to meet their basic needs.

Hammada family is a Syrian family of 6 (Mom and Dad, 2 boys and 2 girls) and are expecting a baby girl early August 2019.. The family had to leave their home behind and move to Jordan in 2013. In 2017 they moved to the US through UNHCR. Please help make them feel safe and at home by purchasing some of the items they need.

The father is sick and cannot work and this family could use any help you can give. Lets help this family create a wonderful new life here in the states.

Rajabi family consist of mom, dad with four children ages 10,9, 8 and a newborn boy born in June 2019! Dad used to work in USAID projects in Afghanistan and got injured at work. Mom is currently taking English classes. The family is in need of basic household items and furniture, shool supplies and baby items.

The Nasratyar family arrived New York in early 2018. They have six children -- five sons and one daughter-- and all are currently attending school. Mom and Dad are learning English. The family has been unable to move due to the cost and are still in need of many household items. They are working hard but struggle with living costs. Thier youngest child, the daughter, loves the colors pink and purple and wants to be a doctor when she grows up! Please help this wonderful family!

The Shirzai Family has six children from the ages of 6 to 25. They arrived in the U.S. from Afghanistan in late 2017 and are still trying to find solid ground in our country. Despite being in the U.S. for almost 2 years, the family does not have a car, are in need of many basic household items and are struggling to pay bills and rent. The youngest son loves to play soccer and wants to play professionaly when he grows up :) Please help this deserving family.

The Wardak family arrived from Georgia to California late June 2019 and currently living in an empty apartment. The family is originally from Afghanistan. Wardak family is made up of dad, mom (pregnant and due in September), 9 yr old and 12 yr old sons. The family lived in Georgia for 2 years and decided to move to Los Angeles in June 2019. Dad worked for a U.S company in Afghanistan for more than 15 years and is trying to look for a job in Los Angeles. Let's help welcome this family to LA with open arms! It would be great if they can get help with beds and mattresses, especially since the mother is pregnant.

The AlSmadi family arrived from Syria and resettled in California. Like many refugee families grandparents are important and kept close. For that AlSmadi family that means 7 people living together, mom, dad, 2 daughters (ages 9 and 11), 1 son (age 9) and the grandparents. The twins rely on a wheelchair. Due to their disability the family requires additional help. Luckily you, the Miry's List community have big hearts and love a challenge. This wish list contains basic household and personal supplies that will allow this loving family to continue their path to a safe and happy home in America.
