Welcome to Pomona! The Alramadan family is a young man who arrived in September of 2019 to Pomona, California from Syria. He studied economics for three years, but had to put his studies on hold to start working to provide for his family. He had to leave his family and finance behind. He is starting school again here in the US and his most urgent needs are toiletries and bedding.
Please welcome the Rahimi family to Southern California! Mom, Dad, and three of their four children arrived in March of 2017 from Afghanistan. Dad had worked as an engineer with US-based companies for more than eight years before being resettled in American due to unsafe conditions. Their fourth child was born that year, bringing their family to 6! Since arriving, Dad has enrolled in college, mom is an ESL student, and their children are all in school, so this busy family needs both home and school supplies, as well as clothes for the family and diapers for the baby.
Let’s all welcome the Samimi family to America! They arrived in the USA from Afghanistan in February 2018 with two young boys and welcomed a new baby boy their family in September 2019. Mr. Samimi worked as a translator for the USAID projects deep in war zones of his native country. They are living in Oakland, CA and Mrs. Samimi is currently caring for their newborn baby and their sons who are 4 and 9 years old. The two older boys are happy to be here and love watching educational American shows and riding dirt bikes, but they are homesick for grandparents and friends. Thank you for helping to make their transition to American life with warmth and generosity!
The Hussaini family arrived in Washington state in April 2019. Mr. Hussaini graduated from high school, and Mrs. Hussaini left school after the 6th grade. They have one adult son and one adult daughter, both of whom are in school learning English. Mr. Hussaini used to work in airport as a driver back home with ISAF. He, along with the rest of the family, are actively looking for jobs. The Hussaini family could use your help with items for their kitchen and bathroom. Thank you for welcoming them into their home!
Samadi family arrived in March 2017 from Afghanistan and resettling in Los Angeles. Family includes, Dad, Mom, Grandma, 2 girls ages 8 and 10. Dad graduated from American university of Afghanistan and worked in US funded projects as project manager over 10 years. Mom is home with the kids. They are expecting new baby boy at the end of September 2019. They request for the household and baby items.
The AlKan family is a Syrian family that consist of Dad, Mom and 2 adult boys. The family left Syria in 2013 and stayed in Turkey for few years. In June 2019 the family left Turkey and resettled in El Cajon, California. Dad used to be a travel agent in Syria but is unable to work due to health issues. Mom is diagnosed with cancer therefore the 2 sons are very busy helping their parents while at the same time trying to find jobs.
Mr. Majidi with his family left Afghanistan for Turkey in 2016 due to the insecure working situation for journalists who were serving for a local TV station. They lived in Turkey for 3 years and finally they could get the visa to travel to the US. They are new arrivals in Sacramento. Family consist of Mom, Dad, 2 sons ages 7 and 4 and a 2 year old daughter. Although they are in empty apartment but still they are happy that they are safe here. children can go to school safely and they live a better live. They are waiting for your help and support.
The Amini Family are new Sacramento neighbors! Mom, Dad and 2 young daughters arrived in July from Afghanistan where Dad had been a carpenter. The most urgent needs are a bike to help Dad as he looks for work and beds for all the family, they only have one broken bed gifted from a neighbor. Mom and Dad are ESL students and the girls are enrolled in school, so even basic essentials on their list will help them feel welcome as they adjust to life in their new city.
Please welcome the Parwani Family! The family is made up of Mom, Dad, 4 daughters and 2 sons. They arrived in Southern California from Afghanistan in 2016. Dad worked for the US Army back home. The two eldest children are college students. Dad works in a shopping mall but his income is insufficient for covering expenses for the large family. Their most urgent needs are basic household and kitchen items, a bed for Mom and Dad, and laptops for the children to do their schoolwork.
The Noori Family arrived from California to Afghanistan in 2017. Mom and Dad have seven children between the ages of 8 months and 15 yrs old. Dad worked with an international NGO as project manager and currently registered in college to become a vocational nurse. They are in need of basic home and kitchen supplies as well as bedding for the family. Please help this wonderful family!
2 sisters from Syria and 1 woman from Afghanistan arrived to San Diego on August 2019 and are currently living together. All 3 are in their early to mid 20s. The two sisters worked in Egypt and have their entire family living in Egypt. The woman from Afghanistan resided in Turkey for 3 years before arriving to the United States. All three women are supporting each other as they all try to find jobs.
Welcome to California! The Samsam family is a mom, dad, daughter, and son who arrived in March 2016 to Southern California from Syria. Mom and Dad married just before war broke out and they were forced to flee Syria for Jordan, where their daughter was born. Two years ago, Dad suffered a massive heart attack and has been unable to work. Their baby boy was born just a few months after Dad's heart attack. The Samsam family urgently needs clothes and blankets so they can be safe and warm, and a laptop so that Dad can find and take on telecommuting jobs.
Welcome to Washington! The Noori family is a young couple expecting their first baby in December! They just resettled in June, 2019 to Washington state. They moved from Afghanistan where Dad worked in the Ministry of Defense with the US Army. They are in need of household items to help make their house a home as they get resettled and prepare for their baby.
Hammada family is a Syrian family of 6 (Mom and Dad, 2 boys and 2 girls) and are expecting a baby girl early August 2019.. The family had to leave their home behind and move to Jordan in 2013. In 2017 they moved to the US through UNHCR. Please help make them feel safe and at home by purchasing some of the items they need.
The AIMoqaddam Family bring a mom, dad, and five boys (ages 8-21) to the west coast. They came to the USA from Syria and Jordan and were originally settled in Michigan. Dad used to work with the U.S Army in Afghanistan. The family's apartment is empty and need all the help to fill their apartment.
