Volunteer with Miry's List

There are many ways to get involved! Read on for descriptions and fill out the form below to get in touch.

Family Advocate
Starting over in a new country is very difficult, especially when you don't know the language or customs. We need family advocates to check-in weekly/regularly with our families. Duties of Family Advocates vary from having playdates to arranging appointments, finding employment, acquiring basic necessities, and/or coaching English if you have language skills. Most importantly, you will be a friend to those starting over, and therefore, will know specifically what resources your family needs.  Each family is unique and will have different needs & concerns that you can help address. Miry’s List and other Advocates will be by your side each step of the way, so you will not be alone in finding or providing resources.  As a community we can help families become independent & self-sufficient. Must have a reliable car, valid driver’s license and car insurance.

Translator
We currently have the highest needs for Arabic, Farsi, and Dari speakers - all others will be placed on a waitlist. You may be asked to join a group chat, phone call, or attend a specific event or meetup.

New Arrival Supper Club (NASC) Venue Host
We are always looking for people to host our monthly NASC events. These events range between 75-100 people and work best if you have a spacious backyard and kitchen where we can prep food and seat up to 100 people.

Miry’s List Fundraiser
Seek out opportunities to fundraise for Miry’s List. Whether with schools looking for charitable causes to donate to, or seeking out grants and good people with generous pockets. We want Miry’s List be an organization that is a household name. We also need help with occasional one time fundraising campaigns for a specific family in need or a special item that needs added attention.

Transportation
Our families need assistance with transportation to stores, appointments, and daily activities. This may be required on a regular schedule, or as needed. We also often need transportation to deliver donations to families. If you are interested in providing transportation, please add your general availability, location and if you have access to a truck or large vehicle in the comment field below. Must have a reliable car, valid driver’s license and car insurance.

Other Skills
If you have any additional skills that you are willing to donate, please list them below.  For example: law services, medical advice, dental services, construction, teaching English or vocational skills, or anything else, please let us know!

Please note: all volunteers must be over the age of 18 or accompanied by an adult guardian.

Please fill out the information below, and we will contact you as soon as we can via phone or email.
