Meet the Hashmi family from Afghanistan! Mom and Dad both hold degrees and worked for US companies and NGOs back home, as well as raising 3 wonderful children ages 2-17. Their 12 year old daughter loves to draw and is looking forward to enrolling in her new school in Northern California because she enjoys learning English and science. They have had to start over from scratch after leaving their home, and are in need of many household items, as well as gift cards for clothing and bicycles for the older two kids to get back and fourth to school. They are very grateful to the donors who are helping them start their new life in America.

Meet the Shukoor family! Mr. Shukoor is a young man in his 20s who was studying to be an engineer in Afghanistan before traveling to the US with his birth mother and his step mother, both over age 60. He is passionate about restarting his education here and is happy to have a safe apartment with his family. They are in need of many items for their home, and appreciate all the help!

Welcome Shukoor family from Afghanistan! Dad was a doctor working with USAID in Kabul before coming to the US with his wife and 2 year old son and resettling in Virginia. They just arrived in September and need many things to start their new lives here. They are so appreciative for the help!

Welcome Qalandary family! Mom, Dad, and their 3 kids ages 9 to 14 came to the US from Afghanistan and recently resettled in Sacramento, CA. Dad is already enrolled in ESL classes and the kids love going to the park near their house. They are really hoping for bicycles in addition to their household needs!

Welcome Ghanizada family! Mom, Dad, and their 2 year old daughter recently arrived from Afghanistan and resettled in Sacramento. Mom is expecting their second bundle of joy soon and they are so happy to be settled in to their new home, and feeling optimistic for their future.

Meet the Nasimi family! This young woman in her 20s came from Afghanistan via Turkey and was able to bring her elderly parents with her. They all resettled in Sacramento, CA and are so happy to be here safe and together. Family is so important to Ms. Nasimi and she has wonderful goals of working hard and achieving so much in life!

Welcome Shuja family from Afghanistan! They are a family of 4 with two kids, ages 4 years old and 7 months old. Both Mom and Dad worked for USAID projects in Kabul and just moved to the US in late October 2021. They are in need of many items for their new home but they are very excited to start their new lives here.

Welcome Bigzad family! They are a happy family with 3 kids ages 7-11. They resettled in northern California and enjoy going to the park together and cooking Afghani food together. Mom and Dad both have a goal of improving their english skills and getting jobs in their new community.

Welcome Nasimi family! Mom, Dad, and little Yusra are from Afghanistan but arrived in the US via Turkey. They have had a long journey here and are so grateful to be safe in their new home in Sacramento. Mom and Dad are both enjoying English lessons and are both looking for new jobs. They are in need of many items for their new home and greatly appreciate the support.

Welcome Bakhshi family from Afghanistan! They are a large family of 7 with kids from 6 months old to 14 years old. They are a happy family who loves to share meals together and the kids are really looking forward to starting school in the US. They love to visit parks on the weekend and the kids love riding bicycles!

Welcome Rashidi family! They are a young couple who came to the US from Afghanistan and resettled in Sacramento, Ca. Mrs. Rashidi has already applied to a new job here and plans to take lessons to improve her English and learn how to drive. She is so happy for the new opportunities she has here! They have a small apartment but appreciate the help of donors to make it into a cozy home.

Meet the Bakhshi family! Mom and Dad are from Afghanistan and resettled in Sacramento, CA with their 1 and 3 year old sons. They are very happy for the opportunity to raise their sons here. They are in need of many household items, including a crib for their baby.

Welcome Ahmadzai family! This family came to the US in August of 2021, and resettled in Virginia. Mom and Dad are going to ESL classes to learn English, and their 3 kids are newly enrolled in school. They are very happy about the new opportunities in the US and are so thankful to the donors who are helping them turn their house into a home.

Welcome Haider family! This young couple resettled in Virginia in September of 2021 and are in need of household items to complete their apartment. The are both well educated, her with a PhD and him with an MA, and are really looking forward to a bright future in the US!

Meet Mr. Sadat! This young man came to the US while his family is still in Afghanistan. He is kind, passionate, and hardworking, and looking for a new job in the US after having served USAID in Afghanistan. His short goal is to settle in the US and get all the urgent needs to start his life, and his long term goal is to get a good job and welcome his family from Afghanistan!

Welcome Mohammady family! They are mom, dad and their two year old boy. Dad used to serve the US Military as an engineer and Mom used to work for Afghan women rights in a USAID project in Afghanistan. They are so grateful being here and they intend to continue their higher education once they settle completely. They are excited for their son to grow up in a safe situation.

Welcome Maab family! This family of 6 is very happy to be living in the US and resettled in Maryland! They need many items for their home and some of the kids need backpacks and school supplies as well. The kids all said they were most hopefully to get a gift card because they are excited to go to the American stores and pick out any clothes they want!

Welcome Haqjo family! They are Mom and Dad with a little one and another baby on the way in Jan of 2022! Mom said she was so excited to make a wishlist as she never had a baby shower with the other kids. They are so happy to be here and so thankful to the donors for helping to furnish their home.

Welcome Karimi family! This family of 7 is so happy and excited to have started a new life in the US, full of enjoyment and freedom. The kids are preparing for school and both Dad and Mom are working hard to get a job soon. Welcome Amiri family! Mom, Dad, and their 7 year old son came to the US from Afghanistan in August and resettled in Sacramento, CA. Their little boy can't wait to go to school and he loves playing with his new friends and neighbors.

Welcome Masoud family! They are a large family of 9, with kids ages 5-20 years old. Mr. Masoud worked as a mechanic for the US Army in Kabul and feels thankful to bring his family here. They are all learning English since moving here and were so happy when they heard about Miry's List as they are currently living in an empty apartment.

Welcome Haqjo family! Mom and Dad have 4 kids and are expecting a new baby too! Dad is looking for a Job to meet the needs of his family. Meet the Sadat family! Dad came to the US alone and is separated from his family who are all still awaiting their visas. He is hoping to set up his home for their arrival and is searching for a job so they can have a wonderful life here.
