MAYSAA & ABDUL KANJO
Hailing from Homs, Syria. Maysaa and Abdul and their 5 children fled Syria to Jordan in 2012 to escape the violence of civil war. In Jordan they registered as refugees with UNHCR, getting awarded resettlement in the United States in August 2016. Abdul owned a thriving salon in Syria, but also came from a long line of bakers. His family had a bakery in Homs for over 100 years.
Hailing from Mexico City, Elia Aboumrad was classically trained in Paris at the famed L’Ecole and worked for four years under the tutelage of Joel Robuchon in Paris and Las Vegas. Currently, Elia is in charge the pastry program for Cassell’s Hamburgers and has a popup series, Avec Moi, at the Hotel Normandie.
Chef, author and co-owner of Preux & Proper and South City Fried Chicken in Downtown Los Angeles, Sammy Monsour has received acknowledgment and acclaim from James Beard Foundation, Eater, American Culinary Federation and Zagat.
