Kids are intuitive and wise! This is a workshop for parents to learn tools for educating humans aged 2-12 about human migration, refugee resettlement and how we can help our new neighbors.
Miry is Keynote speaker for this community social justice day focused on immigration and welcoming the stranger. Miry will talk about how we can activate here in LA to welcome our resettling neighbors. Classic Syrian coffee, tea and desserts will be serves by a resettle cook from Syria to give guests a multi-sensory and delicious experience.
Each November is Friendsgiving at Miry's List, when we ask people in our community to invite their friends over, share a meal, and raise money for our organization and families. All funds raised go towards supporting Miry's List and new arrival resettling families in America. Last year, over 50 Friendsgiving gatherings took place throughout November and we raised over $30,000. This year we hope to meet and exceed last year's fundraising effort and our goal is $50,000.
