Miry's List is bringing awareness and support towards the vital need for community-based programming to welcome, integrate, and support resettling refugee families in those difficult first 12-18 months so they can thrive in our communities. Individuals with lived experience will share and shine light on the impact of Miry's List.
Over 100 million people worldwide have been forced to flee their homes due to violence or persecution. Each year on June 20th, World Refugee Day honors those who are and have experienced migration and resettlement. Miry's List is a nonprofit organization supporting families who have recently resettled in America as refugees from countries including Syria, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Moldova and Ukraine.
Afghan Feast
Food is love in action. The evening brings together the Miry's List community to indulge in an elaborate Afghan dinner by new arrival chef, Aqila Asghary. Dinner will be followed by dessert and tea service.
Witness the Magic
Evan Kleiman and Aqila Asghary co-host an interactive demo preparing fresh Afghan green and red chutney for guests to enjoy with dinner. Recipe cards to take home to share the magic with your family and friends.
