We are calling on our entire global community to support our campaign to raise $50,000 to address these needs for 100 more resettling families in 2020.
Over 70 million people worldwide have been forced to flee their homes due to violence or persecution. Each year on June 20th, World Refugee Day honors those who are and have experienced migration and resettlement. Miry's List is a nonprofit organization serving families who have recently resettled in America as refugees from countries like Syria, Afghanistan, Iran and Iraq.
GIVE! Miry's List is raising $50,000 to help 100 resettling families get through COVID-19. During the current COVID-19 crisis, the resettling families we serve – who are often low-income or otherwise part of “high-risk populations” – are uniquely vulnerable.
PARTICIPATE! The 2020 World Refugee Day Awards will be hosted by Evan Kleiman, Milana Vayntrub and Miry Whitehill. We come together online with the Miry's List community, social ambassadors, partners, and supporters to hear from speakers including: Ahmed Abedy and Rabia Ahmadi, and celebrate our honorees!
EAT! Our virtual event is brought to life with a Very Real (Safe-at-home) Family Lunch! In partnership with Spread Mediterranean Kitchen and New Arrival Supper Club, lunch is made by Maaysa & Abdul Kanjo, new Angelenos from Syria. Available for safe curbside pickup in downtown LA or contact-free LA delivery on June 20 or June 21 (Father's Day). Family lunch packages available now!
