Introducing Neyaesh Khadem and the Khadem family! The Khadems recently arrived from Afghanistan and resettled in the San Francisco Bay Area. Mom and Dad have three children, ages 2, 7, and 11, and Neyaesh is the oldest. She is very excited to attend school here in the the US, as she hopes to become a doctor someday, and especially one that helps new mothers. Her favorite things about herself are her kindness and strength.

Introducing the Amiri family! The Amiris are Mom, Dad, and 4 kids ranging from preschooler to preteen.they recently arrived to the US from Afghanistan, and resettled in California. Their oldest son shared that loves to paint and hopes to become a famous artist one day. He loves living in California because he can go to the beach with his family, which is one of his favorite things to do. They are in need of beds for their new home, and the kids have especially asked for a bunk bed to share with their siblings.

Welcome to California, Noori family! The Noori family is a big, happy family of 7, with 5 kids ranging in ages from middle school to young adult. Dad was a Shopkeeper in Afghanistan, where the family recently resettled from. Mom stayed home with the kids. Mom & Dad are now taking an English class together in their new community. As they settle into their new home, the Noori family is in need of beds and bedding to make their space comfortable and welcoming. Any support you can offer would greatly help them feel at home in California.

Meet the Sherzai family! This vibrant household includes Mom, Dad, and their five children, ranging from elementary school to high school aged. The Sherzai family recently arrived from Afghanistan and is now settling in California.Mom and Dad are actively taking English classes to adapt to their new environment, and Mom hopes to acquire a sewing machine to continue practicing her traditional craft. As they build their new life, the family is in urgent need of beds and bedding to make their home more comfortable.

Introducing the Abbara family! Mom and Dad have 3 little ones under the age of 5. They recently arrived from Syria and resettled in California. Dad used to own his own business as a store owner in Syria, while Mom stayed home with the kids. They are now both taking English classes together and feeling excited about new opportunities here in California. The Abbara family is in critical need of beds and bedding as they settle into their new home, and are very grateful for all of the help they have recieved.

Meet the Faqiri family! Mom and Dad have four kids; two preteens and two teens. They recently arrived from Afghanistan and resettled in California. Dad used to work as Engineer, and his kids consider him their hero. Their oldest son is looking forward to attending college here in the US and hopes to become a doctor someday and finally reach his goals. They are thankful to be together here in their new home, and are most in need of beds, bedding, and kitchen supplies as they set up their apartment.

Fayez Family

Introducing the Fayez family! Mom and Dad recently arrived from Afghanistan with their four boys, ranging from preschool to high school. They have resettled into their new home in Virginia, where the kids have recently started school. Mom went back to school as well, enrolling in a neighborhood English class! The Fayez family is in need of bedding this winter, especially as the Virginia weather grows colder, as well as a stroller for their preschooler so he can easily get around when the family has errands to run.

Meet Zaitona Hashimi and her family! Zaitona is 12 years old and recently arrived here from Afghanistan with her parents, as well as her 5 brothers and sisters. They recently resettled in Washington state, and the kids have begun school there. In fact, Zaitona loves school so much, she wants to be a teacher when she grows up, just like her mom. She loves to learn about history and also loves to draw in her free time. Zaitona and her family are especially in need of beds and bedding this winter, and a small heater for their apartment.

Introducing the Hosainy family! Mom, Dad, and their 4 kids, ages 6-13, recently arrived from Afghanistan and resettled in southern California. Dad was a community organizer and teacher in Afghanistan and is looking forward to finding community here in the US.  He and his wife are both taking English classes and the whole family has begun to make friends. The family is also in critical need of beds and bedding as they settle into their new home this winter. 

Almahameid Family

Introducing the Almahameid family! Mom and Dad have six children; a 7 year old daughter as well as five boys ages 25, 21, 18, 15 & 4 old. The Almahameids recently arrived from Syria, and resettled in San Diego. Dad had a thriving business in Syria selling fresh fruits and vegetables. Both he and his wife are now taking English classes in their local community and are looking forward to new opportunities here, especially for their young adult children. They are especially in needs of bed and bedding as they settle into their new home, as well as a sewing machine for Mom, who enjoys making traditional clothing for her family.

Malyar Family

Introducing the Malyar family! Ms. Malyar recently arrived from Afghanistan with her two sons, ages 10 and 16. They resettled in the SF Bay Area and are looking forward to connecting with community there. They are especially in need of rugs to keep their home warm and comfortable as they settle in this winter.

Azami Family

Introducing the Azami family! Mom and Dad have two boys, ages 2 and 11, and two girls, ages 6 and 8. The Azami recently arrived from Afghanistan, and resettled in Virginia. Mom was a doctor in Afghanistan, and Dad was a University lecturer who also worked with NGOs. They are especially in need of a heater, rugs, and other items to keep them warm throughout the winter in Virginia. Thank you for helping!
