The Jalbal family—parents Layla and Haroon and their seven children, ages 8 to 22—have just begun their new chapter in Alexandria, VA, after resettling from Afghanistan. Haroon brings extensive experience in IT, while Layla has devoted herself full-time to nurturing their family. Both are eagerly building their language skills through local English classes to support their children’s success and integration into the community. Introducing the Hassan family! Mom and Dad recently arrived from Afghanistan with five kids, ages 18, 15, 13, 10, and 3. They resettled in College Park, Maryland. Dad was an Administrator for USAID Projects back home in Afghanistan. Mom is a full time parent. Mom is planning to take an English class to adjust to her new home. Please welcome the family.

Introducing the Mohammady family! Mom and Dad recently arrived from Afghanistan with their four sons, ranging in age from 16 to 5, and have resettled in Antelope, California. Back home, Dad worked as a truck driver and welder, while Mom cared for the family as a homemaker. As they begin this new chapter, both parents are actively taking English classes and working toward building a stable future for their children.
