The kids love to play soccer together, especially their oldest son, who says his hero is the famous soccer player Ronaldo! This family is especially in need of beds and bedding to make their home warm and cozy.
Turob Family
Welcome to Maryland, Turob family! Mom and Dad are raising 4 teens, including a set of twins! They all recently arrived together from Afghanistan, and have begun to set up their new home here in the US. Dad worked with the US Army in Afghanistan and was proud to be able to bring his family here. Now they are in need of some help to make their new home cozy and warm, especially beds and bedding to withstand the winter.
Dawlatzai Family
Meet the Dawlatzai family! Mom and Dad have one adorable toddler boy, who is loving his new home in California. Dad was a procurement specialist in Afghanistan, and Mom enjoyed sewing for her home and family. Mom is hoping to recieve a sewing machine for her new home, so she can continue the craft that is so beloved to her.
Safdari Family
Welcome to Virginia, Safdari family! Mom, Dad, and their two teens recently arrived from Afghanistan, where Dad was a software developer. Now they are setting up thier new appartment here in the US and are grateful for the support of their new community. Some of their biggest needs at the moment are warm blankets for winter and bicycles for the kids to travel to school with.
Zadran Family
Introducing the Zadran family! With Mom as a medical doctor and Dad as a University lecturer, the Zadrans have big dreams for their 3 little ones. When we interviewed their middle son, he said that one of his favorite activities is "exploring numbers, like figuring out big calculations and imagining the vast size of the universe." Recently arriving from Afghanistan, they've begun to settle into their new home in California, and are looking forward to making their home warm and cozy. They are all in need of beds and bedding, and also in need of a car seat and booster seat for their two youngest kids.
Ghafoori Family
Welcome to California, Ghafoori family! The Ghafooris are a big family of 8, with 6 kids ranging from toddler to young adult. They recently arrived from Afghanistan, where Dad had worked as an acquisition specialist. He says his biggest hope for the future is for his children to get a good education here in the United States.
Nizami Family
Meet the Nizami family! Mom and Dad have four children, ages 4 to 12, and are expecting a new baby boy this year too! The Nizamis recently arrived from Afghanistan and resettled in Sacramento, where the older kids have started school in their new neighborhood. Their family is in need of beds and bedding as they settle into their new home, as well as a booster seat for their youngest.
Ali Family
Introducing the Ali family! Recently arriving from Afghanistan, Mom, Dad, and their 5 teens have begun settling into their new home in California. Dad was a teacher in Afghanistan and is especially proud that his kids will get to finish their education here. As they are a large family of 7, they are especially in need of a dining room table, a sofa, and kitchen items to make it a cozy and comfortable space for everyone.

The Adil family, Inamudin, Meena, and their two beautiful daughters, recently arrived from Afghanistan and are beginning their new life in California. Inamudin formerly supported U.S. efforts abroad, and Meena lovingly cared for their home and children. Their oldest is an energetic toddler, while the youngest is still a baby. As they get settled, the Adils are in urgent need of beds, bedding, and essential home items to create a safe and welcoming space for their children. Let’s help fill their new home with comfort, dignity, and a warm community welcome!
Noori Family
Welcome to California, Noori family! The Nooris are Mom, Dad, and their sweet toddler and two adorable elementary aged little ones. They recently resettled from Afghanistan, where Dad served at the US Embassy. Mom was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing for her family. In addition to the beds and bedding that they are in urgent need of, Mom has a wish for a sewing machine for her new home, so she can continue her treasured craft.
Salehi Family
Welcome the Salehi family! Mom and Dad recently arrived from Afghanistan with their two adorable preschool aged little ones, and resettled in Virginia. Mom says that one of her favorite activities is swimming and she's looking forward to taking her kids this summer as well! For now though, it's still winter and their top priority is getting beds and bedding to stay warm in their new home. They are very thankful for the help and welcome they have received from their new community!
Sadiqi Family
Meet the Sadiqi family! Mom and Dad have 5 children, ranging from toddlers to teens, and have recently resettled from Afghanistan to California. Mom loved to sew for her family, and is really looking forward to having a sewing machine in her new home so that she can bring her beloved craft with her here in the US. The family is also in need of beds and bedding to keep warm on the cool winter nights.
Zarin Family
Meet the Zarin family! Mom and Dad recently arrived from Afghanistan and resettled in Virginia. They have three children, ages 4, 8, and 11, who recently began school in their new community as well. The kids love to play soccer together, and to make friends by going to the park near them. Their oldest dreams of being an engineer someday, and is happy to be studying at his new school.
Arian Family
Welcome to California, Arian family! Mom, Dad, and their two preschool aged little ones recently arrived from Afghanistan and are beginning to settle into their new home. Dad was a medical doctor in Afghanistan, so he hopes to work in the healthcare field in some capacity again. The kids keep both their parents active and busy as they explore their new neighborhood, and both dream of having bicycles so they can ride and play with their new friends!
Safi Family
Welcome Mr. Safi! Mr. Safi is a young man in his early 20s who recently arrived from Afghanistan by himself. He served as a finance assistant in his home town, and is looking forward to new opportunities as he resettles in the Central Valley of California. He hopes to build more community in his new neighborhood as well, and is thankful for the assistance of Miry's List as he navigates new experiences here in the US.

Introducing the Sediq family! Mom and Dad have just one preschool aged little boy, who is the pride and joy of his family. They recently arrivedfrom Afghanistan and resettled in their new home in California, where their little one is enjoying going for a bicycle ride and eating strawberry ice cream. Mom worked in the Ministry of Education in Afghanistan so she is making sure her son's life is full of learning too!
Shakibani Family
Introducing the Shikbani family! Mom and Dad recently arrived from Afghanistan with their three sons, ages 12, 18, and 19. They've resettled in Northern California, where their son Mazullah has started school in his new neighborhood. Mazullah and his family had the chance to visit Los Angeles during their resettlement as well, which he loved! A kid with a big heart, Mazullah sent the Miry's List team a note of encouragement during the recent LA fires, and a sweet photo of their trip too.
Mahmoodi Family
Meet the Mamoodi family! This young couple recently arrived from Afghanistan and have resettled together in California. They don't have any children yet, but are excited to embark on their new adventures here in their new home as newlyweds. They are hoping for some kitchen items for their apartment, so they can cook and enjoy meals together as they did back in Afghanistan.
Khadem Family
Introducing Neyaesh Khadem and the Khadem family! The Khadems recently arrived from Afghanistan and resettled in the San Francisco Bay Area. Mom and Dad have three children, ages 2, 7, and 11, and Neyaesh is the oldest. She is very excited to attend school here in the the US, as she hopes to become a doctor someday, and especially one that helps new mothers. Her favorite things about herself are her kindness and strength.
