Jami Family

Welcome to California, Ms. Jami! Ms. Jami was a project expert at the World Bank in Afghanistan, and is grateful to be here in the US now. She is a young woman who will begin looking for a new career here soon, but needs help with household basics as she settles in. She is especially in need of a bed so that she can get a good nights rest in her new home.

Meet the Akbary family! Mom, Dad, and their young adult son recently arrived from Afghanistan and resettled in California. Dad was an agriculture specialist with USAID in Afghanistan, and is excited to have a new home in such an agricultural state in the US. His son hopes to attend college here and become an engineer. He also shared his favorite quote: "Whatever you are, be a good one."

Sultany Family

Sultany Family

Welcome to sunny Florida, Sultany family! The Sultanys recently arrived from Afghanistan, where Dad proudly worked as a program manager for the UN Food Program. Their young daughter is following in Dad's footsteps as a helper as her dream is to become a doctor someday—or even the president of the United States! Her biggest wish though? To make Afghanistan a safe place where girls have full rights and to ensure that no one, anywhere in the world, has to leave their homeland.

Qani Family

Meet the Qani Family! They recently arrived in California from Afghanistan, bringing with them strength, resilience, and a deep sense of togetherness. This large and loving family includes Mom, Dad, and their seven children, ranging in age from 22 to 6 years old. Dad worked as a construction professional, while Mom has been a devoted homemaker. As they settle into their new home, the Qani family is in urgent need of household essentials to help create a safe and comfortable space for their next chapter.
