Welcome to California, Payam family! The Payam family is a big, happy family of 8- with 6 kids ranging in ages from toddler to teen. Dad was an electrical engineer in Afghanistan, where the family recently resettled from, and Mom stayed home with the kids. Mom is now taking an English class in her new community, and excited for the new learning opportunities available to her here. She also loves to sew and has a sewing machine on her wishlist, hoping that she can continue her beloved craft here in her new home. The family is also in need of beds and bedding as they settle into their new home.

Introducing the Esteqlal family! Mom and Dad have four children: an elementary aged daughter, preschool aged son, and twin baby girls! They recently arrived from Afghanistan, where Dad proudly served as a security guard for the US Embassy. His oldest daughter says her Dad is her hero! She also shared that she loves running and playing with her little brother, and she hopes to make a lot of new friends in her neighborhood! She and her family are still in need of beds and bedding in their new home, and her baby sisters especially need cribs and carseats. Thank you for helping!

They've resettled in California, where the kids love exploring new parks to play soccer together in. Dad was a teacher in Afghanistan and Mom was a student in college, even while she was a parent. She is going back to school here in the US as well and her kids are looking forward to studying together with her!

Meet Zaitona Hashimi and her family! Zaitona is 12 years old and recently arrived here from Afghanistan with her parents, as well as her 5 brothers and sisters. They recently resettled in Washington state, and the kids have begun school there. In fact, Zaitona loves school so much, she wants to be a teacher when she grows up, just like her mom. She loves to learn about history and also loves to draw in her free time. Zaitona and her family are especially in need of beds and bedding this winter, and a small heater for their apartment.

The Almahameids recently arrived from Syria, and resettled in San Diego. Dad had a thriving business in Syria selling fresh fruits and vegetables. Both he and his wife are now taking English classes in their local community and are looking forward to new opportunities here, especially for their young adult children. They are especially in needs of bed and bedding as they settle into their new home, as well as a sewing machine for Mom, who enjoys making traditional clothing for her family.

Mom was a dentist in Afganistan, and Dad was a lawyer, so their four bright and joyful children have a lot of inspiration to do amazing things! The kids need school supplies, and the family also needs kitchen items so they can share a meal after homework time is done! They are so appreciative of the love and community they have found here.
