Welcome Masa Ebrahimkhil and her family! Masa, age 6, recently arrived from Afghanistan with her Mom, Dad, and younger sister and brother. She and her family resettled in the Sacramento area, and are settling into their new neighborhood. Masa says that she is looking forward to making new friends at school, but that she also wants to study hard so she can become an engineer. Her big dream is to help humanity someday.
Naqshbandi Family
Introducing the Naqshbandi family! Mom and Dad recently arrived from Afghanistan with their 10 year old daughter, 14 year old son, and 23 year old adult son. They resettled in Sacramento, California, and are getting to know their new community. Mom was a biology teacher in Afghanistan, and the kids are especially excited to go to their new school here in California to continue their educational journeys.

Their young daughter is following in Dad's footsteps as a helper as her dream is to become a doctor someday—or even the president of the United States! Her biggest wish though? To make Afghanistan a safe place where girls have full rights and to ensure that no one, anywhere in the world, has to leave their homeland.

This young couple is devoted to building a brighter future for their pride and joy—their baby daughter. Dad, with a background in business administration, is eager to continue his career path here in the U.S. He recently surprised his daughter with roses for her very first Valentine’s Day in their new home—a gesture full of hope that her life will always be surrounded by beauty, love, and opportunity.

Let’s welcome the Barakzai Family! The Barakzais are a young couple newly resettled in California after arriving from Afghanistan—and they’re joyfully expecting their first baby boy this spring! Dad, a former software engineer, shared that his greatest hope for the future is simple yet powerful: peace. As they prepare to welcome their son into the world, the Barakzais are especially in need of baby essentials to help them start this new chapter with comfort and care.

Welcome to California, Obaid family! Mom and Dad are a young couple who are expecting their very first baby girl this summer! In Afghanistan, Dad worked in security, and is hopeful to find similar work in his new community. Mom loved to sew and would love to recieve a sewing machine so she can make items filled with love and tradition for her new daughter. They are also in need of a bed for themselves, as well as a crib for their new little one. Thank you for helping!

Meet Ms. Haidary! A dedicated former teacher from Afghanistan, Ms. Haidary recently resettled in California, bringing with her a deep love for working with children and a heart full of hope. While she once spent her days teaching and playing alongside students, she now dreams of becoming a businesswoman and giving back to her new community in meaningful ways. As she begins this new chapter, she is in need of a bed, bedding, and basic hygiene items to help make her house feel like home.

Dad was an agriculture specialist with USAID in Afghanistan, and is excited to have a new home in such an agricultural state in the US. His son hopes to attend college here and become an engineer. Meet the Qani Family! They recently arrived in California from Afghanistan, bringing with them strength, resilience, and a deep sense of togetherness. This large and loving family includes Mom, Dad, and their seven children, ranging in age from 22 to 6 years old. Dad worked as a construction professional, while Mom has been a devoted homemaker. Now, both Mom and the children are taking English classes—learning and growing side by side. As they settle into their new home, the Qani family is in urgent need of household essentials to help create a safe and comfortable space for their next chapter.
