Welcome to California, Noori family! The Nooris are Mom, Dad, and their sweet toddler and two adorable elementary aged little ones. They recently resettled from Afghanistan, where Dad served at the US Embassy. Mom was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing for her family. In addition to the beds and bedding that they are in urgent need of, Mom has a wish for a sewing machine for her new home, so she can continue her treasured craft.
Salehi Family
Welcome the Salehi family! Mom and Dad recently arrived from Afghanistan with their two adorable preschool aged little ones, and resettled in Virginia. Mom says that one of her favorite activities is swimming and she's looking forward to taking her kids this summer as well! For now though, it's still winter and their top priority is getting beds and bedding to stay warm in their new home. They are very thankful for the help and welcome they have received from their new community!
Sadiqi Family
Meet the Sadiqi family! Mom and Dad have 5 children, ranging from toddlers to teens, and have recently resettled from Afghanistan to California. Mom loved to sew for her family, and is really looking forward to having a sewing machine in her new home so that she can bring her beloved craft with her here in the US. The family is also in need of beds and bedding to keep warm on the cool winter nights.
Zarin Family
Meet the Zarin family! Mom and Dad recently arrived from Afghanistan and resettled in Virginia. They have three children, ages 4, 8, and 11, who recently began school in their new community as well. The kids love to play soccer together, and to make friends by going to the park near them. Their oldest dreams of being an engineer someday, and is happy to be studying at his new school.
Arian Family
Welcome to California, Arian family! Mom, Dad, and their two preschool aged little ones recently arrived from Afghanistan and are beginning to settle into their new home. Dad was a medical doctor in Afghanistan, so he hopes to work in the healthcare field in some capacity again. The kids keep both their parents active and busy as they explore their new neighborhood, and both dream of having bicycles so they can ride and play with their new friends!
Shaker Family
Introducing the Shaker family! The Shakers recently resettled in California after arriving from Afghanistan. Mom and Dad have five teens! Dad worked with the United Nations on the World Food Program back in Afghanistan, and is proud to have served those in need. Now that he is in need of help himself here in the US, he is very grateful for those who have welcomed him and his family with open arms.
Sediq Family
Introducing the Sediq family! Mom and Dad have just one preschool aged little boy, who is the pride and joy of his family. They recently arrivedfrom Afghanistan and resettled in their new home in California, where their little one is enjoying going for a bicycle ride and eating strawberry ice cream. Mom worked in the Ministry of Education in Afghanistan so she is making sure her son's life is full of learning too!
Shakibani Family
Introducing the Shikbani family! Mom and Dad recently arrived from Afghanistan with their three sons, ages 12, 18, and 19. They've resettled in Northern California, where their son Mazullah has started school in his new neighborhood. Mazullah and his family had the chance to visit Los Angeles during their resettlement as well, which he loved! A kid with a big heart, Mazullah sent the Miry's List team a note of encouragement during the recent LA fires, and a sweet photo of their trip too.
Wahdat Family
Welcome to Sacramento, Wahdat family! Mom and Dad recently arrived from Afghanistan along with their two little boys, ages 5 and 7. The whole family loves to get outside, having picnics and visiting parking together, and Dad and the boys especially love to play soccer together. They are really looking forward to making new friends in their neighborhood, especially the boys who recently headed back to school.
Qurbani Family
Welcome to California, Qurbani family! The Qurbanis are a young family, with just one little toddler girl who is the joy of their lives. They recently resettled from Afghanistan, where Dad worked at an NGO. Dad says that if he had one day to do anything in the world, he would take that day to thank everyone who was with him during difficult times in his life.
Sadat Family
Welcome to Washington, Sadat family! Mom and Dad recently arrived from Afghanistan with their 4 children, and are settling into their new neighborhood. Mom and Dad were both teachers in Afghanistan, and are thankful that their children have begun attending school in their new community already. The Sadat family is especially in need of car seats and a stroller at this time, which will help them get to school and navigate their neighborhood as well.
